Northern Alberta Jobs
Northern Alberta has a steadily rising economy thanks to its natural resources. Employment opportunities are rife in this area because of its flourishing industries. But to make the economy even stronger, the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC) is tapping into another natural resource – its youth. Through bursaries or grants, the NADC is making sure that young Albertans will be able to take part in the economic boom in this region. The following are just a few of the areas where grants will be provided:
Bursaries for Northern Alberta jobs in pharmacy
Provided that the student is currently enrolled in a four-year pharmacology course and has been a permanent resident of Alberta for the past two years, the NADC can grant a Pharmacy Student Bursary per year (for a maximum of four years). Though this is non-repayable, recipients will be required to work off the bursary by staying and working in pharmacy jobs in Northern Alberta.
Bursary for Northern Alberta Jobs as nurse practitioners
The NADC also aims to let Albertans get into the booming healthcare business by supporting nurse-wannabes through grants. After completing years of study and practice, students who received the grants will be required to stay in Northern Alberta to provide nursing and healthcare services.
Bursary for medical students
In order to encourage medical professionals to take on jobs in Northern Alberta, the NADC is also offering a Medical Student Bursary. Grants will be given per year for students who are qualified. One should be a resident of Alberta for the past two years and will be required to sign a return service contract. This return service contract guarantees that one who has benefited from the bursary will stay on and provide medical service in Northern Alberta after completing residency.
