LPN jobs in Alberta

The province of Alberta boasts of being able to provide quality healthcare to its residents. Though medical practitioners who have excellent qualifications can earn a living in this province, Alberta is also a great place where other medical professionals can also practice their expertise in. Many medical institutions are into hiring many LPNs or licensed practical nurses to better serve their patients.

LPN jobs in medical Institutions

LPN jobs can be found in hospitals and clinics, both public and private. LPNs assist registered nurses and physicians in performing medical procedures. Menial tasks such as providing hygienic care to patients and assisting patients when they need to go about are just a few of the duties LPNs regularly do. In some cases, LPNs may be allowed to perform basic medical procedures as long as they are supervised by a registered nurse or a physician. For LPNs to be able to practice medicine in hospitals and clinics, affiliation with the College of LPN in Alberta is needed.

LPN jobs with allied healthcare providers

Medical institutions that provide specialized care can also be good venues for LPNs to practice their professions in. In rehabilitation centers, LPNs perform basic nursing functions such as assisting counselors and physicians when medical procedures are needed. LPNs can also find job opportunities in other allied healthcare providers such as mental institutions and hospices for the elderly. However, experience and knowledge in handling patients in these institutions are sometimes required. Some employers also require LPNs to have the proper health certifications, immunizations, and training in CPR and First Aid. LPN certification from the country where you obtained your education is also required.
